Andaman Nicobar – the Serene and Exotic Bay Islands of India

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, part of one of the union territories of India, are a group of islands at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.

These Islands are 150 km (93 miles) north of Aceh in Indonesia differentiated from Thailand and Myanmar (Burma) by the Andaman Sea. This coral archipelago consists of two island groups, the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands. The Andaman Islands to the north of the 10-degree N latitude, and the Nicobar group of Islands to the south. On one side lies The Andaman Sea, to the east, and the Bay of Bengal to the west.

Capital City and Airport is the Town of Port Blair located on the Andaman Island houses the famous Cellular Jail, Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, Andaman Water sports complex, Corbyn's cove, Chidiya Tapu, Wandoor Beach, Forest Museum, Anthropological Museum, Fisheries Museum and the Naval Museum (Samudrika).

Other exotic places include Havelock island famous for Radhanagar Beach, Neil Island for Scuba diving/snorkelling, Cinque island, Saddle peak, Mt Harriet and Mud Volcano. The southern group (Nicobar islands) is mostly inaccessible to tourists.
